LED license plate bulb install 987/997

cost $13.99/pair
difficulty: 1-5, 1
tools needed:
Phillips screw driver
pick
So I've seen the new Lexus cars with the LED bulbs and they look cool, like little xenons.
I purchased 3 sets for my VW's and Porsche from an ebay

It's a simple install.
using a phillips screwdriver remove the two screws holding the housing up.

there is a little notch on the right side of both housings.

using a pick or your long nail, apply pressure to the left.

this will allow it to drop.

there are contact tabs to power it so the entire housing drops out without wires.

simply pull out the existing bulb and replace it with the LED.

make sure the LED is facing down (they are directional) with the circuit board facing up.

these have built it resistors so if they dont work you have to turn them around to make sure + and - are correct.

out of the three sets I purchased one of them were bad, so I will be exchanging them. You can see the difference between the regular bulb and the LEDs.

once both are in you can see how they match your xenons perfectly

I also put them on the Jetta and Touareg. This pic only has one bulb in and one LED.

Is there any way to prevent the bulb from rotating? If vibration causes it to turn, the directional nature of the bulb is going to make the lights ineffective. Are they pretty tight in there?
