GT3 vent installed...

The whole job (cutting bumper, epoxying vent) took me about 1/2 day... the car looks different now. I like it. It could be even more functional with a 3rd radiator. Until then, I'll just enjoy its good looks.

Porsche stopped using the 3rd radiator in the S model with the 987 model.

Thanks for everyone's positive comments/feedback! The more I see the vent mod, the more I like it. It really does change the look of the Boxster. Plus, it's not a costly project for DIY'er.

Aside from black side vents and the GT3 vent, I have no other body mod right not. I'm planning to cut out the 2 horizontal (silver) slats from the two intake grills (to make a simpler, one big intake opening) and put black mesh behind them. This will require removal of the bumper and the intake grill, a little fiberglass and mesh work... but shouldn't be too too difficult - and, again, it's cheap project that will change the look. If anyone is interested, I'll take pictures and document it.
Silver slats:

Minus silver slats:

I'm also debating whether to put an LED light bar below the fog light, though not sure if that's one of those... nice from far, but far from nice type of projects. I'm open to peer pressure on this one.

Personally, the LED thing I feel IS THE WHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm always jealous of those cool looking super bright white LEDs because they are super "up to date" looking and they are "just so dang cool"

My 2 cents. No charge.

Keep us posted on the daytime running lights, I have been considering this mod as well. Techart has a kit, don't know if it works on all models though, and very pricey.

Out of the box, the vent is simply molded black ABS plastic - not painted. I would equate the vent to most standard molded black plastic parts on cars. I've seen some folks paint it or cover in carbon weave.
You can pick the vent up from Suncoast for $29 + shipping. So, it's a relatively inexpensive part itself.
