Installed 15mm spacers today...

Got around to installing a set of 15mm spacers I picked up from FVD last week. I installed these spacers in the rear and the wheels sit nearly flushed with the wheel well. This setup really gives the back of the car a more aggressive stance. I haven't decided on spacers for the front yet... maybe 5mm will do. Anyways, here are some pictures... let me know what you guys think.

I haven't seen the H&R spacers, so I can't offer any direct comparison. However, these spacers from FVD are great! They come with the necessary mounting hardwares (lock screw, new shoulders & bolts (as you can see from the pix). The 15mm spacers weigh-in just over 25 grams each.

FVD spacers: note the nice, beefy hub centric ring

spacers

Thats one of the best mods in my opinion, very subtle look but one that clearly makes a difference! I have H&R and they look similar, the H&R's are stamped on the side of the spacer. And I would suggest getting at least a 7mm on the front!

I've used both FVD"s and H&R's spacers. They seem to be virtually identical to one another. In fact, I would be willing to bet that they are sourced from the same manufacturer. Personally, I prefer FVD's product simply because you get everything you need ( spacers, correct lug bolt sizes, countersink lock screws ) in one package at one price.

JR - do you have pix of 7mm setup in front? I'm on the fence between 7 vs. 5mm - I've only seen 7mm with factory wheels on 911s, and feel they may be too wide. Thoughts?

I agree. I had trouble finding a shop that sells everything in one package with the H&Rs (BTW, I'm not knocking on H&R, I know they make great aftermarket parts). But once I added the little parts up together, it was more cost effective and less hassle to order from FVD. Plus, their customer service is top notch.
By the way, the FVD's have their stamps on the spacers as well... and they're also TUeV certified from Germany. I guess it's not unreasonable to say they're probably from the same source.

I'll have to dig thru the archives for pics with the 7mm, I have 14mm on the front now, which you can check out the pics I have in the garage on this site.

Lithium,

Unless you are concerned about clearance problems, the 2 mm difference between the two spacers is almost negligible. If am not mistaken, the 987 wheel has a very high offset. You should have no issues with running the 7 mm's. I have a set of Porsche oem 5 mm spacers, if you lived up here in the Northeast, you would be more than welcome to give them a try.

Thanks for the feedback and offer Johnny. I'm in S. Florida, so swapping in your 5mm is somewhat out of the question. Thanks again!

Looks great. I am looking into spacers for one of my cars (not the Porsche) right now.
