JIC Cross Coilovers Installed
JIC Cross Coilovers Installed
Just wanted to show a quick snapshot of the car with them on. Sonic Motorworks in Mountain View did a great job on these and I saw a TPC Cayman out front - great guys and highly recommended; they really know our cars in and out from plenums to f/i.
Initial drop is 1" front 1.25" rear (2 finger front and rear), but have since lowered it some more. I installed Maxspeed spacers after the second round of lowering to avoid any clearance issues in the rear. No real clanks or bothersome noises at speed - this set is great. I'm currently running on 4 clicks front/6 clicks rear for the winter and while the car is noticeably stiffer, it is absolutely streetable on 19's and feels more planted on my drives up Woodside Road. Anyone care to join?

Very nice. Btw,... the fronts will settle quicker from the braking momentum. The rears will take longer. This tip may work for you ... after I lowered my car (w/ Eibachs), my alignment guy basically grabbed on the rear frame (U-shape frame @ the tranny) and pull on the back end a few times. That was all it took to "accelerate" the settling of the rear springs.
I added 9mm/9.5mm compensating plates to ensure enough ground clearance & eliminate any metal-metal contact. The ride height is now (measured from center of the hub to fender):
Front (in.): 13-7/8 (just shy of 2 fingers gap) from 15"
Rear (in.): 14-1/2" (just about 2 fingers gap) from 15-1/2"

I have lowered the car a bit more since the initial install and softened the front (from 6 to 4). I'm enjoying the setup very much - had to purchase spacers to push the stock wheels back out, purely a 'look' thing though. I ordered some Forgestars so I wouldn't have to keep using spacers. I get a few minor noises at crawl speed going up speed bumps/driveways, but those are the only complaints I can muster up.
