Windscreen Question

I recent acquired a used 03 Boxster S and it is missing the windscreen between the two seat backs. I was wondering, does this piece really work? Does it really reduce noise or is it pretty much ineffective?

It makes a bug difference if you drive a lot on the freeway at high speeds with the top down as it cuts down on a lot of the wind buffeting. That being said, if you live in a warm climate, that may not bother you because it only really becomes a nag if you have to top down when it is colder out. Being that you live in Miami, you may not even need it.

If I take the center windscreen out, there is buffeting and a strong backwash of air that increases with speed. Wind noise also increases. I have the center Windscreen and installed, plus clear plexiglas panels that fit ilnside the roll bars to help. This works like majic for almost no wind, especially with the side windows up. Highway driving is a very comfortable experience. The plexiglas inserts are available from an aftermarket supplier. I can't remember the business name any more. Do a web search and you can find them. They were not very expensive. They do work well!

I found the rollbar insert windscreen supplier. It is Jay Senoff's Custom Windscreens. Check them out.
