I think "Sport" is used to describe all the FVD aftermarket exhaust systems as a general term. Then you have the TUV (quieter version designed for the sound-restricted European market) version or the Export/Sound (louder version) version designed more for the US market. That YouTube clip of the red Boxster is probably my 2009 Boxster S (if it is in a garage and is a very short clip doing some throttle blips) and is not the best video/sound. I will do a proper video clip soon with some drive-bys so you can properly appreciate this system.

Hope this helps. Call Rhonda at FVD and she can really answer all your questions. Good luck

My system is the Export/Sound (loud)version. Again, don't get confused by Sport - all the FVD Brombacher mufflers are listed as "Sport" mufflers. From my Invoice, my muffler is listed as: Sport Muffler "Brombacher" 987-2/S, Sound Version (the only other version is the TUV/quieter version, which I think would be too tame for most Porsche enthusiast and American tastes IMHO). My Part Number is: BES 987 250 00S. This is for the newer 987.2 cars with the 3.4L DFI engines. Hope this clears up any confusion. Rhonda will certainly help clear this up and I will try and get some video/audio clips soon. Good luck

It is the best modern generation Porsche sound I have ever heard, even better than the sound I get from the FVD mufflers on my 997.2 C4S. I truly think this is because of the unique FVD (M&M) design of the large single exhaust "can" with the large tips welded to it versus other manufacturer designs with twin cans and tips screwed-on to the outlet pipes. The result is perfect harmony for a Porsche!
That is very useful information! I am going to give Rhonda a call and order mine!!! Thanks again for your assistance.

It's a simple exhaust mod that sounds good, no drone, doesn't cost much. For more info:

I have the PSE on my 13 Boxster S and love it . I have had all types of aftermarket exhausts (on my previous and other Porsches) and like them as well but if one wants to keep the car stock and wants an awesome and authentic Porsche sound .. this is it !!!

I feel that's what i like about it the most .. the authenticity of its engineered sound note .

Is PSE necessary ? Nope it's not but the good part of having it is that all it takes is presing a button to shut it off if one wants peace and quiet or turn it on if it wants to hear it snarl . In my opinion it's nice to have choices .

I make in mine an inside bypass and sound great, but always is open. And if you want to install a bypass with valves, on the web sell electric and vacum exaust valves, you only need to bring a good garage and addapted to your stock exhaust for less money to the original.

Cayman S exhaust

Thanks heiwaz, I really like the idea of modifying the stock exhaust (having had two 911's with sport exhausts made from stock back in the 70's). The bypass idea allows for the tips to "look" stock. Any chance you could supply a photo of yours after the modification?
