What are your thoughts on this Cayman?
I stopped by the Porsche dealer today. They have a 2007 Base Cayman black on black, CPO with 4k mi.'s. It is absolutely immaculate. It was a lease return that apparently was never really driven. They were asking $41, but will sell it for $38k (before taxes). Is this a good deal. I fell it is, I really would prefer a stick (a CS would be awesome as well), but I feel this will be plenty of power for me. Your thoughts are welcome.
PS: I have never owned a Porsche, but I have wanted a Cayman for years. I currently drive a Honda Element.

The Cayman is plenty good (power, handling, creature comfort) for everyday driving, cruising the off the main roads and DE. Seeing where you live, you'll have no problem keep up with others on drives/cruising up/down HWY1 along the coast line. You will be slightly disappointed if you try to sprint with other high hp cars on the normal freeway, but so will the CS.
Price wise, I feel you can do better; $38k will net you a CPO 2007 CS now. Prices have come down on these cars...I suggest doing a broader search in your region and across the US. Cars.com show 3 CPO'ed 2007 Cayman S with less than 30k miles (one with 17k mi) asking $38k. For cars outside the region... negotiate the sale price first, then tell them to ship it enclosed.
My finacee bought a BMW 135 from BMW SF last Nov and after price negotiation was done, we ask the dealer to ship the car in enclosed trailer to S. FL. The sales guy hum and huh'ed but car showed up a week later at our door step. If the dealer wants your business...they'll have no problem shipping it to you. Remember to negotiate shipping separate from car sale.
Good luck!

You said it right there! Don't settle. Keep looking. I could see the power being justified(even though I would go with an "S"), but not the Manual. I just went through withdrawals without a stick over the last 9 mos. !!
