Feelgood MD is infamous around these parts
is 987 shifter the same as 997?

hey guys, i'm considering putting a 997 shifter (NOT the short shift kit, just the factory 997 shifter) into my 996 turbo. a lot of guys around here say it improves the smoothness and shortens the throw compared to stock. unfortunately, i don't know anyone who has a 997 so i can't test it out before committing.

however, i DO have a buddy with a '08 cayman S, and i'm wondering if the factory shift kit is the same between his 987 and a 997. ie, would testing the throw in his cayman give me an idea of what the 997 shifter may feel like in my 996TT.

thanks.

Yes, the 987 and 997 share the same shifter unit - part number starts 997.x.x.x for both.
