which cayman should I pick?
what's your budget? The main difference between base v. S is engine size. The base model is more than capable for the road... though if bigger engine is important to you, you may want to consider it.
Hello everyone, new to this board; this is my first post here...
I went for the Gen2 base Cayman. I dearly wanted (and still do) the "S" but my budget would only permit either a Gen1 CS or a Gen2 Base. I chose the Gen2 base after learning about all the improvements in the engine, power steering and suspension. Plus the newer electronics with bluetooth, iPod interface, USB, etc., are nice.
The most significant factor for me was the fact that, the Gen2 engines don't have the intermediate shaft which was blamed for a lot of Gen1 engine failures. I just didn't want to deal with that.
In another year or so, when the Gen2 CS's start coming off-lease, I may upgrade if the price is right...

how's the pricing on caymans? I was able to get a really good price buying a Panamera S out of state. Are the same opportunities available for Caymans. A friend has been looking for one that fits the budget for a while now.
