Mod suggestions for a 011 basic Cayman

Just wondering what some tweaks are that may benefit my new Cayman. Kind of a wish list I can work on. Thanks.

The common ones would be exhaust, wheels, suspension (springs or coilovers), headers, plenum/flash, etc.

I feel that modifications are to make your vehicle more unique or pleasing to you. What changes do YOU want to make? Even the exhaust, wheels, tires, external add-ons are still varied and are part of the fun of accessorizing your car.

How true, but need to learn what exactly is available first.

I'd consider a sport (short) shifter. I had the Porsche OEM shifter installed in mine. Not for everyone, but I wouldn't own a Cayman without one.

Yeah, my dealer did the install for me.

I bought the shifter from Suncoast and was planning on doing the installation myself, since it's a drop-in replacement. However, when the time came, I wussed out and decided I didn't want to risk damaging the console during removal. It doesn't come with instructions and those I found online weren't sufficient for me.

I would do the same. How much better is it? If you can quantify that.

Sign up for DE and hone your driving skill. One of the PCA instructors took me for 2 laps at sebring in a stock cayman r... Omg, if i didn't check the tire, pads and suspension myself, I'd think the car is fully modified with r compound, pss 9 coilover. I've come to learn these cars are extremely capable off the dealer lot.

If you are interested in some new Cayman items please let me know. We here at Suncoast have access to all Genuine Porsche parts as well as some aftermarket items. If we would not put it on our own car, then you will not see it on our website...

Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.

doing the sport shifter is not at all impossible - I did mine. But, it is possible to bugger it up - read the threads first especially on Planet-9 they were an immense help to me. I can't imagine the car without the shorter shifter - I really didn't like the stock one.
