Utilitarian question

I am considering daily drivers and was wondering between a 911 or a cayman S, which would be better for going to grocery or Home Depot etc. I see the commercial of putting some mulch in the front of the cayman, but the 911 has seats in the back too. Which one is better for hauling etc.

The Subi Outback is better by a long shot than either Porsche as a grocery getter/hardware hauler. Seriously, I think it is a felony in some states to go shopping at HD in a Porsche.

As to your direct question, it really depends on what you want to carry. For weekend jaunts the Carrera is nice because you can toss soft sided bags behind the seat and bigger stuff in the frunk. Actually getting stuff in and out of the car is easier in the Cayman due to the rear hatch access... but if anyone asks I will deny we ever had this conversation

They would be similar. The front trunk in the Cayman is a bit larger. The rear hatch is decent sized as well. With the Carrera, you have the back seat area. Decent storage, but whatever you put there is visible.

Don't buy either one for the storage area. Ask yourself if you want a classic rear-engine Porsche or a mid engine version. Then decide. If you want a hauler, get a Cayenne.

You can do the same things with either. Decide cab. Or hardtop. Then drive both. I drive my Boxster most of the time because it's just a hoot to drive. The 911 is a different drive than the 986. Both will "haul" about the same.

I have a 2005 Boxster as a Daily driver. Did you know you can put 2 case of wine and 3 weeks worth of dry cleaning in the Frunk?

Porsche's really are capable for daily use. Even if it means going to home depot. Just don't try and haul sheets of plywood in it.
