old vs new, thoughts?

 

Both are fantastic. A Boxster is a Boxster. Always great.

 

There is a hint of an MR2 in the new one to me... maybe its the front... I think it looks killer from the rear.

 

The new one looks like a toy. It doesn't look as good as the outgoing model IMO. The proportions of it make it look very small.

the new raised back end looks really good imo - gives more strength.

the new door and vent work also looks more agressive imo.

thx for choosing white - that is what i will get if ii dump my turbo.

 

Does the new car lose the clamshell? I wonder if the new top is more simple or more complicated of a system.

in these images i find the 987 to be much more fluid.. appealing

 

I actually prefer the looks of the 987. I don't like the rear of the 981 as it doesn't look very classy...I hate the wing and tail lights.

Seriously, from these pictures, I'd opt for the 987 but seeing the video on the 981 on youtube, I would go for the 981.


Undecided or just greedy

 

Usually I like newer, but in this case I like my 987 better. Interior is better on the 981, but outside the 987 is better and more fluid. Now on the 911 I LOVE the 991 and the evolution of the lower, wider, interior, and rear LED lights.

It always takes a bit of time to embrace the new. I agree that it looks much better in the video and its a Boxster. Its the best car Porsche makes. You will like it sooner or later.

 

Roll bars have been improved.... Looks much better than the skinny ones
Side scoops improved... Aggressive body lines
Side mirrors improved... Always hated the Carrera style
Door handles sleeker and improved
Rear quarter panel and tails much improved. Less droopy and more aggressive.

Biggest improvement is the shape and fit of the top when it's up.

Overall it's been significantly improved

 

I thought I liked the new one better until the side by side photos. Still like the Spyder the best

 

Always going to get bigger and badder! Love the new 981. . . love the old 987. . . just like old girlfriends. . . .
