Hard decision lease end soon, buy it or return it?

Hi all,

I'm currently leasing a 08 Cayman will be end on March, I do like my car but there is some problem with the car so I'm still worry if gonna have more coming soon......

1. rear mirror droped while driving normally, fixed under warranty but the dealer said I also need to replace the front windshield!!

2. Gas tank problem, it having a hard time to fill up full tank, unless u holding up the pump. Fixed twice but still having the same problem after few months.

3. Car won't start during cold weather. "replaced a clutch switch assembly"

Um.....what should I do? Will that be more problem coming soon? Should I keep it or return it? Please help.

Here is little info of my baby

Current millage: 18,9xx
Residual: $32,7xx
Current lease amount: $516/mo

Platinum Extended warranty for 4 yr with $100 deducation will be $3k

Thanks All ^_^

I would tell the Porsche dealership I would buy it out if they repaired the ongoing issues and CPO'd the car. I have never heard of a new Porsche (or Chevy for that matter) with those issues at 3 years old. But, you have a lot invested already to just drop it off. That's why leases - to me - are a bad deal. Renting a car is not a good deal.

can't hurt to ask for those things to be addressed and a CPO, but honestly it doens't sound to me like you're loving your car.... so, I'd drop it...

that said, you'll wonder why when you're driving some other POS 2 weeks later..

return it, the trade in value of that car is way below the residual..then buy
a preowned newer car or lease another one...jmho..
or if theyre gonna wholesale the car afer you return it tell them you'll buy it $500 more than wholesale..lol!

Call my friend Gary Quibelan 4086554947 if you want some deals.. he's the Sales Manager for Carlsen tell him Alex Punsalan referred you.

Could they CPO a car without going through their extensive check list?

As far as I know, it'll need to go through a hundred plus check points. Switch out any parts thats worn like tires, brakes..... It usually cost around $2k plus. Would that have to come out from your pocket or dealers?

For me, it would have to come out of the dealer's pocket. It's under warranty and should be corrected prior to CPO. Then, it remains under warranty for another 3 years (I believe) and stress-free driving.

If you would consider a 2011 911 you could get a great deal right now!

Thanks for all of your opinion, I went to test drive the 135i yesterday, omg it a lot faster then the cayman lol. But they offer 48k OTD, it sounds like abit pricy for the 1 series.

My Neighbor who own a body shop told me to return my cayman, because the value of my car is less than 29k, why I should pay 33k + 3k warranty on it, unless Porsche willing to lower the residual.

Still haven't make my decision yet
