Thumbs up Much needed Fabspeed aggression

Man are the stock exhaust tips ugly! They've been bothering me for a while, but I wasn't sure I wanted the full sound of a catback exhaust making my daily driver unbearable. Drone was not an option and oddly enough, I've yet to hear an aftermarket exhaust in person (besides a TPC setup ).

So, the road less traveled (part 1 of 2)...

Out with the boring, in with the new. The craftsmanship is very nice on this piece. Has a very sturdy feel to it. True dual setup replaces the stock T:

How cool are these clamps? Tried to get my girlfriend to wear one as a bracelet, but it didn't come in a blue blox, so no dice:

Had to remove the wheels and then the exhaust just to get the stock T piece off. This piece is designed for the 987.2, so we had to remove about 1/8" from each side of the stock exhaust ports coming out of the muffler so it would fit properly.

Perfectly aligned and looking meaty:

Dark chrome looks classy and mean at the same time:

They stick out the perfect amount with a nice angle:

I did this mainly for aesthetic purposes, but I swear the engine revs a tad more freely and breathes a little better. The slight mechanical vacuum sound that irked me seems gone and the tone seems a bit throatier. Much of this could be placebo, but I'm totally happy. A co-worker said he heard me drive past him in the morning and the car sounded meaner. This was before he knew I had even changed anything.

Very happy! Thanks to Joey at Fabspeed and Ryan at RSR Autosport. Part 2 of the road less traveled coming soon...

Almost too nice to stick in the bottom/rear of the car. Beautiful craftsmanship!

Chris the Cayman S looks great with the addition of the Black Chrome tips! Glad I could assist and if you need anything else, don't hesitate to call or email.

The rear of the car looks fantastic! The combination of the meaty black chrome tips and the carbon fiber ducktail looks incredible.

Video

I didn't expect much of a sound difference, but there's a slight change in tone that I like.

Here are before and after videos (not sure if I embedded them properly). I forgot to trim them before taking them off my iphone, so sorry for the fluff.

Fabspeed has been working on the new Porsche 981 Boxster S these last few weeks designing performance products to increase the power and sound. Our deluxe T304L stainless steel bolt-on tips will fit with the standard OEM muffler, just like the 987.2/987 Boxster/Cayman models. These are listed on the Fabspeed website for the same price as the previous generations. Here is an explanation video of the Maxflo components for the 981 Boxster including the bolt-on tips:

Those look so nice and I like them as well but $500....... come on.

I want to replace the single outlet on my 981 to a twin tip but refuse too pay such a ridiculous amount for a pair of exhaust tips.

Fabspeed will have a 987 Cayman 2.7L stopping by the shop today for the installation of the polished bolt-on tips. I will grab a sound bite before and after, and take detailed photos of the installation.

Fabspeed products

I will be taking some video footage with sound bites today as well with my Fabspeed Catless Headers and Fabspeed Racing Exhaust .
I just installed the racing exhaust other day on my 2007 2.7 liter and I can honestly tell you guys it feels like another 20 to 30 HP !!!!
I would put this car up against anything now ..it is seriously Fast
anyone in the seattle area that wants a free test drive just let me know and I would be glad to come meet you it is just Crazy as far as performance increase .. It is quite loud though but has its peaks and valleys so today I will work on controlling the sound . Making it Roar only when I want it to Roar ..This Beast is just asking me to accelarate more and more .. only 1 word to describe it though ... UNBELIEVABLE

Top Quality Product with Huge Performance Gains ...I dont know why anyone would settle for anything less

Fabspeed's deluxe bolt-on T304L stainless steel tip section saves 0.55 lbs. from the rear of the exhaust compared to the restrictive OEM tips. Very simple installation that will dramatically increase the aesthetic value of your 987/987.2/981 Boxster/Cayman.

Thanks!

Also, are the tips larger diameter than stock?
