A pair of 2010 Cayman S getting track-prepped

This red 2010 Cayman S came into us for an improved exhaust note with the Remus system as well as improved brake feel/consistency for the track with the GT3 brake master cylinder conversion and stainless steel brake lines. Also on tap was the toe/bump correction kit.

Up she goes:

Off comes the exhaust:

The larger Remus tips being installed:

Fully installed:

Next up is the removal of the factory brake master cylinder:

The system is bled/flushed and new stainless steel lines installed:

And in the rear:

Old factory lines:

The RSS toe-steer kit is also installed in the rear:

Ready for the track:

This 2010 Cayman S came into us for a vastly improved exhaust note with the Tubi exhaust system as well as improved brake feel/consistency for the track with the GT3 brake master cylinder conversion and stainless steel brake lines. Also on tap was the toe/bump correction kit.

In she comes:

Front trunk removal is first in order to get access to the stock brake master cylinder:

The 997.2GT3 PCCB version is used to improve the brake pedal feel and get rid of the mushiness:

Off come the factory brake lines:

In place go our stainless steel lines:

And in the front:

Next up is the removal of the quiet and heavy factory exhaust:

The Tubi exhaust was chosen for its awesome note along with a set of the Cayman R tips:

A clip of the Tubi Exhaust in action:

Off with the factory lower link:

The flawed eccentric bolt turns mid-corner changing your toe-angle:

On go the replacement RSS lower bump/toe correction kit along with lock out plates and solid bushing:

More to come for this one shortly but ready for her first track day:

I was really impressed by the Cayman R that they had out at the PCA club races in Topeka this last weekend. It has me re-thinking my 911 aspirations.

Nice sound on that Tubi setup.

A quick question - why only rear suspension upgrades? Why not GT3 LCA's or camber plates in the front?

Both cars look great. Well done.

What brand brake lines do you all use?

In addition to what Dr. Bill asked... what is the benefit of the bump steer/toe kit without lowering the car?

Do the SS brake lines really make that much of a difference? Do they also help with system longevity and reduce brake fade at the track?

yes they do help with everything you just mentioned. I just installed them at the shop on a customers 07 S that gets tracked quite a bit... the initial feel from him was that its less mushy. We installed goodrich steel lines and flushed brake fluid and installed Motul 660. Much better at handling heat.

The steel lines are a cheap enough upgrade that its worth doing.
