I remember seeing a link on a guy who converted his 986 to a 987, anybody have any info about it..?

 

Trade in? Seriously, the body panels are different, transmission as well I believe. The engine is tuned for more hp, easy enough. But maybe it is just easier to swap a 3.6 or 3.8 996 engine in 986.

 

There's no "conversion". No matter what you do to your car - it is what it is. The 986 is registered as a 986 even if you spend the money to make it look slightly different. There's no return on that expense. Drive what you have or trade it in but don't waste money on something you'll regret later.

 

I never said I wanted to do it, I'm not really into the Boxster 986 or 987 but I saw an impressive conversion which I found interesting.
