It’s official, downpayment made, paperwork begun...

I’ve been dealing with my salesman for the last couple of weeks and hadn’t given him a downpayment until today.

Ship date to the US is July 16th. I’m hoping it doesn’t take more than a couple of weeks to get here and prepped... point is, I should have it roughly 1st to 2nd week of August.

Ended up adding PASM and Chrono (even though it’s a stick) Total build with destination was $82 something.

Now I just gotta be patient...lol.

Congrats and you are definitely in an envious position.

What color did you end up with, and I am assuming a 981?

Boy, these Boxster prices keep going up and up ($82k...sheesh!)

Congratulations, that will be a great car!

Now it's just the wait... I'm almost through my own waiting period, so I know how it feels, LOL

I went with guards red. It’s classic and IMO, a hot color. I had the roll bar covers painted red along with the wings on the door mirrors. I’m going to paint the trim pieces on the dash and perhaps the door. (not sure yet about the door)

I did this on my JCW.

The only other red I had in the car was black leather seats with red stitching.

I was at 78’ish and by the time I added PASM and Chrono, it brought it up.

I’ve been reading your posts (aren’t you also on team speed?) and living life vicariously through you. I can’t wait for you to get yours so I can read about it. It’s going to be a long 2-3 months.

Did you know that you can track the ship that your car is on? I learned that through the mini I had bought (I didn’t order it, I’m entirely too impatient) but you can find the ship and gps track it. I jokingly said that to the salesman yesterday and he pulled up a website showing the same info. Kind cool.

That's right, I'm on Teamspeed with the same user name!

I don't know the name of the ship yet, but if I get it I will make sure to track it! My car will make a shorter ride than yours though, since it will only go from Bremerhaven to Södertälje in Sweden. Weirdly enough, the ship will pass right outside Gothenburg, where I live, on the way... But since Porsche Sweden ships all their cars through the port of Södetälje, it's bound for an annoying detour!

Orangecrush, that is some nice paintwork you did on the JCW interior pieces. My wife just received her Mini Clubman (pepper white) 3 weeks ago and it would be fun to paint some interior pieces pepper white. I also plan to paint the wheels pepper white (that should make her stand out from the crowd a bit).

Oh...can't wait to see the classic red/black combo of your 981!

If you paint the wheels PW, have the trim rings for the headlights done also. If you look up orangecrush on NAM, you’ll find that I’ve painted as many headlight/taillight trim rings on the forum for free as much as I have charged. (even at that, I NEVER once made a profit... I always painted stuff at cost for forum members)

In my early days, I was always drawn to guards red like moths to a light. I guess old habits don’t die because when I saw that shiny red with black, I knew instantly that was the color I wanted. In my last half a dozen years, I’ve been doing orange... candy’s, Porsche GT3 orange, Harley orange, dodge prowler orange... orange, orange, orange (aren’t ya glad I didn’t say bana,... nah, never mind...lol)

Anyway, I almost contemplated spending the 5500 for the Porsche GT3 orange but I think for the first time, that color might look a little muted. (not to mention it would take EVEN longer to get here...lol)

So red it is....

Deliveries have begun in the U.K. and someone posted these this afternoon on another forum Thought you'd be interested in them. Love the Guards Red/Black Wheel combo.

Very nice!

First time I see a 981 with the "delete model designation" option, looks so much cleaner than the cluttered standard rear lid!

Congrats on the car....I am still trying to digest that a Boxster with a few options is an $82k car.

The photo was clearly taken inside the showroom of a Porsche dealer. Don't most have tile floors? The ones that I've been in do.
