New Purchase Decision - - Thoughts?!
So, looking to get into the Generation II of the Cayman series. Currently have a Gen I and have loved every minute of the car.
If I find the right 2010 - 2012 Cayman S with loads of equipment I'm good. I've also been contemplating trying to find someone who wants to let go of their Cayman S Black Edition. The Cayman R is also of course phenomenal! So, that's always an option as well.
Here are my must haves..... PASM, 6 speed, BOSE, Nav, Sport Chrono Package. Has anyone seen something with all of these options.
What are your thoughts on the Cayman R versus the Cayman S or even the Cayman S black edition. . . I'll probably base my purchase on people's thoughts on here. I'd love to find a Cayman S with all the options that the black edition has.....

Cayman R all the way. I've driven all versions except the black edition on a stadium parking lot track at a Porsche event. Cayman R is very aggressive and fast, and you can feel the difference.
I vote cayman R. I drove one with minimal options and honestly thought it was perfect, wouldn't have added anything. It was black, had sport buckets, ssk, pcm and a/c. I am a younger guy and thought the buckets were great, but even I might get tired of them if it was a daily. My dad (60 years old) nailed his head getting in. Needless to say the sport buckets are harder to get into.
The Cayman R with the low option configuration is a ~70k car. But I think the HP bump, lsd, suspension stuff are easily worth the premium you pay. Like I said, I wouldn't change a thing. My current car (1 series M coupe) is full of gadgets (nav etc) and I never use them. It is my daily and I wish I had found one with less options really.

If you can.........Cayman R. I traded my 08 CS on my CR. It is a daily driver of 22 miles round trip and I find it surprisingly good in traffic and I am amazed at the gas mileage going to the DFI. Mine is pretty loaded with PSE, Sport Chrono, AC, Bose, Heated Seats, Auto Dimming Mirrors, Black Wheels, HIDs............it makes a good driver, great
