I finally got a chance to see the latest 2013 981 and it looks fantastic except the rear IMHO is hideous with the tail lights integrated into the spoiler; very jap car looking. I apologize to the owners out there, just my HO. To me it was a major turnoff.

Tis okay, we're all entitled to our opinions. However, I think it takes a bit to grow on some people. I love the look of the car but it's not for everyone.

986WANG is infamous around these parts
Had the chance to try out both the 991S and 981S PDK at the local track on September 11 during the annual Porsche Club Taiwan Meet (Taiwan International Speedway). 3 laps in each car courtesy of local Porsche Dealership. Got to say the Boxster S was the better car of the two. Boxster had a nimbler and more communicative chassis. sleeker profile and better proportioned than the 991. I was planning on buying a 991S Cab. Now I am convinced the 981S is better suited for me. 3.4L VS 3.8L Engine can mean a huge difference in performance. But I wonder if I need a faster car than the already quick Boxster S. 0-60 mph in 5 seconds is plenty fast for me. Literature mentioned 991S cab hits 60 in 4.8 seconds PDK + Sport Chrono. The Boxster S is the more balanced package and a more affordable one too. Time to spec out the 981S. It would be White exterior, red interior, red top, 6 speed manual, No PASM, No Sport Chrono, No Vector system. Figure the only added option I will select would be the red interior and sport exhaust. This car is gorgeous, drives beautifully, and can keep up with other quick cars on the track day.

I like the style of the 2013 as well. I especially like reducing the overhang at the ends. The problem I have is value. I currently drive an 08 RS60 Spyder. I spec'd out the 13 with the same options and it came in over $83k. For that I get 12 more HP. I know there are other refinements but I just can't justify it.

Good specs but add PASM, car looks better lowered and more comfortable in normal and better handling in sport.
