Got a chance to look at the 2013 Boxster S

Hi All,
Finally got to see the 2013 Boxster S in person, looks way better than the previous generation especially at the top where the hood now is more stretched and elimiates the bubble top look of the previous one.

Side profile makes the car looks just right in terms of proportions , being lower and wider helps

The back is also done very nicely and front has that nice sleek look like a modena.

Red on the exterior looks nice, silver was blah .Blue top loos better imo over black . I usulaly like black porsches but i dont think black int he this new boxster looks great

Waitng to see white and GT Silver on them with blue and red tops

Just got back from the “unveiling”. (I actually got to sit in it and play with it yesterday)

My dealer has 6-7 sold (two got delivered today) and took 2 in for sale to the public.

I’m impressed with the car from what I have seen and tomorrow I’m taking an S with a manual for a test drive.

I test drove the Boxster S this week and was completely underwhelmed. The new interior is just plain ugly and the ride is extremely cushy. It felt no faster than a stock Cayman S and 10 times out of 10 I would pick my car to drive the twisties than a 981.

That’s good... that’s one person less that the people that want the new 981 have to stand in line behind.

Saw two of them for the first time yesterday. Looked great in pics, but didn't call to me live. Will try to drive one soon.

Same here. Saw one "in the metal" yesterday evening, and was undewhelmed. The car looked great in pictures, but in real life the exterior design was way too "busy" for me. Too many lines, creases, bumps, and details everywhere. I much prefer the clean and simple lines of the previous version.

On the other hand, I thought the interior was very nice. Well done, and with upgraded materials compared to the 987. Now, I'll just have to drive one to see how it compares. That is the really important part.

Make that two people.
The line keeps getting shorter. . .

I completely disagree, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect that.

White/black S launch car at a local dealer here. Looks awesome all around with the exception of the big black rear license plate holder, that will be the first mod I do. Guards red mats will be my second.

Mark you were right, there are no exterior fasteners on the rearviews, good thing you got them painted.

Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of. I remember the day I looked at the mirrors, I had a Porsche Cayenne in my shop. We went to remove the mirror and had to take the freakin’ skin off to do so.

It wasn’t that we aren’t capable, I just have a problem of taking an $82K car apart the day I get it to start some paint work.

I’m still painting the outside trim rings on the qtr vents but I might just leave the windshield squirters alone. With the LED daytime running lights so bright, the chrome doesn’t look bad... we’ll see.

I’m also glad I went with the red roll bar hoops to match the paint. My dealer has two red 981’s, one with and one without painted hoops. The painted looks much better IMO.

It comes down to personal choice. I have driven the car at Barber and think its great car......suits my needs. Personally I wouldnt even thought of getting 987 but thats just me. Based on what Ive seen the new Cayman is going to be pretty interesting. Going to be at Fremont Porsche stop by for some good food and people.
