1998 Porsche Boxster Shifitng question
I am new to the site and happy to be part of a great looking site.
I own a 1998 Porsche Boxster and I have been driving her for about 500 miles and I am having a hard time understand how these cars like to be driven.
It tends to jerk when I shift. I did read something about never shifting under 3k but is there a know shift point for city driving that would stop this jerking. Thank you

I don't think your problem has anything to do with shift points.
If the car jerks, you're not matching the revs when you shift. When releasing the clutch, you need to simultaneously meet the clutch release with the throttle, making sure that the revs are correct when the clutch engages.
I suspect you are not used to driving with a stick shift before. It takes some practice to get the revs to match and to get smooth shifting. Furthermore, in a sportscar, the clutch will engage more directly than in a more "normal" car, which requires a little more from your side.
Just practice matching the revs and you'll get there. The Porsche gearbox is excellent and you'll have no problem doing very smooth, totally jerk free, up- and downshifts at any engine speed when you get used to it.

thank you, today I started to shift past 3K and that car seemed to react better. I also worked on the gas and clutch but overall I see this car is very different from normal cars. The clutch and revs have to be close or it will get mad
