Isn't the Spyder lighter, faster, and with more horsepower?

 

Not directly but check out Car and Drivers Lightning Lap. They tested the Spyder in 2011, Cayman R in 2012, and Boxster S in 2013. The verdict is the Boxster S essentially performs as well as the Spyder. Here is the link to LL3 2013 video.
