2007 Porsche Cayman S
2007 Porsche Cayman S
Porsches are some of the most sleek, powerful creatures in the car world and it's a well-known fact that racing and Porsche have gone together for a long time. So it's no surprise when people choose to take advantage of this remarkable legacy and use their Porsches for track cars. This 2007 Porsche Cayman S came in for just that precise reason.

Parts Installed:
Racetech 4009 Series RT4009 Race Seat
Custom Race Seat Install
Racetech MAG6 Magnum Harness
Porsche 987 Boxster/Cayman/Cayman S PSS9 (B16) Bilstein Coilover kit with PASM
Porsche Cayman/Boxster Exhaust Headers with High-Flow Cats
Porsche Cayman/Boxster 987.2 Cat-Back Export (Race) Exhaust
Porsche Cayman S ECU Upgrade by APR
Porsche Sprint Booster
Porsche Carrera 996/997 97-09,Cayman and Boxster 986/987 Short Shifter by B&M

We started by building custom seat brackets in house so that the customer could put in some Racetech seats, replacing the OEM Porsche seats. We also designed the brackets so he would not hit his head on the roof with his helmet while he was on the track.
The old seat out

Now its time to prep for the new seat. When you're doing anything custom, a measuring tape instantly becomes your new best friend.

Time to put all the bracketing together with the seat and get that awesome Racetech seat in!

And its all in

After hours of work and custom fabrication we upgraded the ECU with the APR software to give it more power. We then installed Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers to give the car a more aggressive ride, as well as better traction for the track.
The latest addition are Fabspeed Headers with High Flowing Cats, this gives the car a very distinct and throaty sound and also adds to the power of the car. Along with the Fabspeed Headers the car is equipped with a top of the line Speedart Catback exhaust. This really adds to the sound of the car.
Bye, old headers

Old versus new

The new Fabspeeds are all ready to be installed and put to the test

After the exhaust was complete, we added a sprintbooster to help overcome throttle response delay.
Then it was time to install the short shifter.

Taking everything apart and adding the new

So far, the crew at GMP is very pleased with what we have done to the car but most importantly, the customer is very satisfied with the outcome of his 2007 Porsche Cayman S.
