3.4S Blue Smoke on hot start up

Hi All,

My first post so please bear with me if this one has been answered before.
I've just had my car at a track day and it was pointed out to me that there was a good deal of blue smoke when I fired the car up, although it hadn't been noticeable on the track. This was occurring with a hot engine after doing several laps and then giving the car 20 minutes or so to cool down.
I'm used to seeing the smoke on cold start up and I see from other posts this is fairly normal.
On getting the car back home I was low on oil.
Can anyone please point me at the likely problem and give me an idea of how serious a repair it would be?

Thanks

Probably the AOS.
Unfortunately, it's one of those that fails often, but can be replaced if you're handy enough. I replaced mine when it also started smoking a lot. The part is less than 100 bux from Suncoast, but you can definitley save a lot in labor if you can replace it yourself. Go to Planet-9 and do a search on AOS. There are also several DIYs for it there... good luck!

Thanks for the quick response. That's a relief as I feared something more serious.
