I have a 2006 Boxster S. The two struts with the white plastic ends both broke and bent so I ordered new ones. Is there any particular advise in helping me install the struts? Is there any particular trick in making sure they don't break and bend again? Do you tighten the set screw of the adjustable length of the strut to a particular length? Any particular order in installing the strut?

I did this about a year ago. It took me maybe an hour. do one side at a time. Pull one side off, make the new one the same size as the old one. Then put it on the car. repeat other side.

the plastic cap is designed to be a weakpoint in the top. there is nothing to do from prevent it from happening. Just be glad it was that and not something else.
