I'm considering buying a whole wrecked boxstercayman for the 6 speed manual trans. The salvage sites rarely list what transmission it has, let alone whether its an S model. What letter/position could I use to identify this?

 

The VIN does not identify transmission type. You'd have to look at the option codes for that.
