What is the recommended oil 2005 Boxter base

Hi all, I'm doing the service for my Dad's 2005 Boxter. I'm picking up the supplies this week and was wondering what is the recommended oil weight for this year car.

No mods to the car and it's not an S model.

I know Mobil 1 is the brand, just looking for the recommended weight. He lives on the SF Peninsula. Rarely below freezing, or above 100 degrees F. I have done a search and found 0-30 and 10-40 recs.

And I'm not trying to start another oil thread. Thanks in advance.

Mobil 1 0w-40. Many auto stores carry them as does Walmart (cheaper).

There are many other approved oils in 0w-40, 5w-40, and 5w-50, but M1 0w-40 is the easiest bet for street use.

As vetman mentioned that is correct. If you haven't bought anything yet, we offer a kit the includes everything you need. We also have just the filters if you just need those. For more information Click Here.

I would go with 5/40 for those hot summer days and still be good for the colder ones, even 5/50 if u push it hard alot in summer.
