Caymen verse 991
Looks are subjective. I agree, the Cayman looks much better to me. I think part of the problem is also the image of each vehicle. If someone had no knowledge of Porsche and saw the specs / images of each car - I think more would prefer the Cayman.
Add in the history of "911 heritage" and how the Cayman was born - then more people start swaying towards the 911 as it is more the "must have" car.

You must have very sharp eyes. The 991 C2 stands .28" higher, .4 " wider & is 4.61" longer than the base Cayman. All kidding aside, the GT-4 will impact some 991 sales. Personally, I love my 991 but would trade for a GT-4 in a minute, if it came with PDK.
