New Boxster S Owner - want to replace the radio

I purchased a 2001 Boxter S back in September and I am now at a point where I would like to replace the factory radio with something a bit more up to date. Ideally it would be a touch screen with Nav system or even one that also supported Android Auto.

I am looking for any suggestions anyone might have. I have tried to do research on and off over the winter and I never really was able to get any clear answers as to good after market replacements that for sure would work in this car.

Thanks,
Eric

i assume your car has a double-din slot for the radio. i got an email yesterday announcing a new Kenwood unit with Android Auto. I've got a Kenwood in my Cayenne and I love it. Have no idea how these new units are but i'll probably replace my radio with the new one(s) in the next few months.
