Just picked up a 2014 Cayman S. Love the car but Ive noticed that the side mirrors dont reset properly when coming out of reverse into drive. They turn downward in reverse and are supposed to come back up to the original position when i begin to move forward.

I took to our local dealer and they tried but as it turns out they didnt fix the problem. Before i take it back to them, does anyone have ideas as to what might be causing this or how to fix?

 

Assuming that Cayman is similar as the 997, try programming it into the memory (as if you are customizing your mirrors and seat for the very first time).

 

Same observation with my wifes 14 Cayman S.....you need to drive 50-100 meters before the mirror will reset. I disabled the backup-tilt function since I don't parallel park very much and can tilt the mirror manually when the need arises. It is actually very very distracting to have the mirror tilt when just backing up the car.
