I am finally getting my first Cayman, very excited but have question on warranty. I got offered by dealer with 3 different levels warranty through Safe-guard . Can someone give me an advice which one I should choose? Because the platinum is about $3.5k and I think that's a bit high , any help is appreciated . Its a 2009 Cayman S under 30k miles thank you )


1. Silver= covered power train, steering, front suspension, brakes , seats, and gaskets, AC and electrical


2. Gold =cover all of the above plus sensors and instruments.




3. Platinum = cover everything , only wiper blades and spark plugs are not covered.

 

Brakes are covered in all? Is that including pads (interesting if it does)? On balance, Silver sounds more or less like a CPO might cover. What is the price of that?

 

A Porsche CPO covers everything, btw. (except wear and tear items, like brakes) I have a Porsche CPO, myself and have used it to get my Boxster top repaired, twice and have a blown fuse replaced. (The person who had the car before beat the crap out of it...) Just fyi
My husband had the safeguard warranty on his 997 when he bought it. 2 weeks later, the water pump locked up. It was a big repair since the belt had to be replaced too. Safeguard took care of the whole thing.
