Talking Newb 987.1 Boxster owner.

A few months ago I bought a really nice low mileage 2005 Porsche Boxster. I wasn't even really considering the Boxster but happened to be at the dealership with a friend when the elderly previous owner was working on trading it in on a 911. Took it for a spin and the driving experience sold me. Here is a picture from when I first bought it.

*** fun as it was to drive I was not too impressed with how it looked so I set off to making it a little cooler. First I ditched the polished oval exhaust tip for black duals.

Then is was time to paint those silver side vents. I also had 20% ceramic tint put on and love that stuff. Total game changer during the summer. Keeps the inside of the car a lot cooler.

Then to take care of that last sore thumb.

So now I have started exploring how to get some more power out of this thing and discovered Porsche apparently choked up the induction side of things at every opportunity. I am going to address it all but I am going to start upstream and work my way back. Pulled everything out of the driver side inlet yesterday and am working on a less restrictive set up. Not anything groundbreaking but I'll post more photos as it comes together.

Thanks.

Took care of that restrictor plate. Didn't want to just remove it because it is really ugly inside there without it in there. Instead, I just took a Dremel to it and added some mesh.

So far, so good. No codes. I can definitely hear a difference and I want to say it feels like there may be a little more mid-range power but without putting it on a dyno I am not going to swear that it is not just placebo.

Ok, dumb question...how did you remove the side vents and what did you use to paint them?

Thanks!

Here is a YouTube video. I had them sprayed to match the factory color.
