Over Sticker For GT4 Allocation?
My dealership has just offered me a changeable GT4 Allocation, car would be a late Feb delivery date. However they are asking $15k over whatever sticker comes out to.
Looking at the GT3's i can live with it, if the GT4 is going to be a limited run. However if the GT4 is now going to become a trim level then obviously paying anything over sticker would be a terrible decision.
Calling around i know how hard it is to find one of these cars, especially an open Allocation. Just don't want to pay 15k over to find out another run is coming 16-17/17-18 and il just be throwing the 15k away + Depreciation from MSRP.
Also it is Paint To Sample available, if i do order the car i plan on painting Acid Green to match the 918 Caliper color.
Just wanting some advice and info into the matter. Ive heard of dealers asking 30k over in Cali, however I've also never paid a dime over MSRP on anything. So this whole concept is kind of freaking me out.
Thanks for any advice into the matter.
Also at a 115k sticker plus the 15k uncharge... 130 is getting dangerously close to used GT3 territory.

Supply and demand. Throw in limited production run. Tough to know what the future holds. These cars will hold or appreciate after some time.

My two cents:
PTS, if you can actually get it, definitely seems to retain or command more value later on...most other options do not. Sounds like you spec'd a very highly optioned GT4 at $115k....even accounting for $5,500 for PTS, it's still nearly $25k of options, which is not easy to do (unless you spec PCCBs, too, which some have said not only hold no future value, but even detract from it). If you are looking to minimize future downside even after paying $15k premium (which I don't begrudge, unlike some others around), I would take it easy on the options, outside of PTS. At some point, the absolute dollars get big and it will be out of whack with most other GT4s available in the secondary market one day. Check out the GT4 Registry on RL that's compiled by "gmaki." It will inform relative total MSRPs of all GT4s in the registry in North America, which totaled over 800 last I checked. If you are seeking to minimize future depreciation hit, it's probably best not to build a unicorn, that stands out for its high absolute price.
Good luck and enjoy your ride!

I think PTS is a must if you want something different add on PCCB, LWB, and extended fuel tanks, still have more money to spend get full leather interior, still have more cash get upgrade stereo. Good luck and post some pix when you get the car. GT4 will follow suit like all GT cars with very low depreciation and desire in the future.

PM'd
I was eavesdropping on conversation at my dealer. Someone called in about a GT4 allocation. I didn't hear anything about paying over MSRP. All I heard was, we have an allocation, you need to come here with $5,000 non refundable to be able to place an order for a March build and will be at the dealer sometime in June. Then I heard, see you in a little bit. Personally, I wouldn't pay over MSRP but I know dealers are charging what they can.
There is a new run of cars. My dealer told me its going to be the same number or more cars per dealer. Hold off the new 991.2 GTS is going to be pretty close to the GT3 991.1 level so there is going to be a good number of cars available soon.

My dealer also had a April GT4 allocation available, no premium. PTS available, LWBS available. I think the days of over-sticker GT4's are very numbered.
Which is good... They are great cars and should be purchased and driven hard, not become yet another "collector" Porsche to be swaddled in a garage or flipped.
