Boxster GTS values....

Love boxsters and this model, the GTS, seems like the top of the heap as far as power, performance and style. But....they don't seem to sell very well and many are languishing as considerably below msrp.
What gives?
Any current '15 or '16 GTS owners have any insight? I have seen some very nice examples at more than 20% off msrp!

Are you talking about new or used/CPO Boxster GTS models on the market? Where are you seeing them 20% off?

Based on a quick search, there seems to be a glut of black/white/silver ones available.

Yes, you are right about the colors. I have been offered 78k for a $93k car with less than 100 miles on it. Wasn't long ago that Boxsters, seemed like, were in high demand.

Just bought a pre-owned 15 GTS loaded with manual for about 20k below original MSRP. Not that many in the market that aren't PDK.

Dealer right down the street has a Boxster GTS for sale, sticker is $91k!!! No wonder they aren't selling.

I got the next to last allocation for a '16 BGTS last fall at my dealer. I had started looking as soon as I heard the switch to turbo 4s was confirmed. The sticker was $93K and I don't care if it's worth 10, 20 or 30K less now - I may never sell it.
This car is amazing (and it's DBM - not black, white or silver). I had a '15 TT that I just got rid of because I could not enjoy the PDK and the car was always going too fast without feeling fast.
I'm sure the 718 will be "better, faster, etc" but IMO if you can get a 3.4 GTS, grab it.

About the only thing I would do to improve the GTS is put a 3.8 in it!

No argument there. I wanted to like the Spyder, but that ridiculous top (to save 22 pounds?) and no vent seats made it a non-starter for me as a DD.
The 3.4 is plenty fast for me though.

I saw a nicely optioned one for $65K, posted the link on Planet-9 and one of the members there brought it. There is another one listed for $67K, like the previous one, I believe the dealer will take $65K, even used ones isn't selling. But yeah, $90K for a Boxster, I don't think so. These things should be $75K-80K brand new with nice options. IMO.

I agree that the list prices have gotten somewhat out of hand. I also think it is similar to the situation with the Cayman. The introduction of the GT4 and Spyder made them "gotta have" for a lot of people and killed demand for GTS models. It will be interesting to see how things shake out in the long run.
