997.1 Steering Wheel onto 987.1?
Direct swap...I have done this 2 or 3 times on my Cayman. Many will say you need to disconnect battery, wait 15mins, blah, blah. Not necessary, IMHO.....just be sure not to insert the ignition key while the airbag is disconnected and you should be fine.
1. Unplug battery. (2min, just do it)
2. Stick a not too small, not too big flat head in the hole at 6 o clock of your steering wheel. Point it front to back.
3. Push up until your airbag releases from the steering wheel.
4. Pull airbag out, disconnect wires.
5. Unscrew the center bolt using a M12 triple square socket.
6. Remove steering wheel, reverse order for new one.
Thats it. Takes 30min if you've done it before, longer your first time because you're figuring it out.
All 997.1s will fit 987.1s. The .2s will fit too but gets more complicated with control modules.
