engine auto shut-off not working?
The engine auto shut-off on my '14 Cayman doesn't seem to be working: the sport mode is off, the prevent-auto-shutoff light is off, but it wouldn't work. This happened intermittently before too but I just drove for more than half an hour and each time I stopped the car, the green no-auto-shutoff light would show up and the engine kept running. I think this started happening after the interim service. This is not normal, right? I didn't see see a setting in the dashboard computer that controlled this behavior.

Do you have PDK or stick? There are lots of conditions that have to take place for auto shut off to work, especially for a stick shift. Have you thought of taking a look in the owners manual? Personally, I don't care for it, so I keep it disabled all the time. IMHO if you can afford the car, you can afford the fuel.
On our '14 981CS, I have noticed that when the AC is running, the auto shutoff will not turn the engine off or will only turn off for a few seconds before firing back up. It won't even stay off long enough for a reasonably short traffic light cycle. I assume this is because they need the engine running to maintain AC temp.
