Any way to spell "RS60 Spyder" via OEM emblems
Any way to spell "RS60 Spyder" via OEM emblems
I've got a 2008 Boxster S RS60 Spyder.
I'm curious if there's any combination of Porsche lettering that would enable me to get "RS 60 Spyder" across the trunk in matching Porsche lettering?
I think I've seen RS and Spyder, and much of the newer Porsche lettering is in the same font these days. That just leaves the "60"
Is there something that offers 3.6 and maybe 4.0 where I could steal the 6 and 0?

You could possibly turn a 9 upside down. Not sure if the curvature is the same as the six though. Anyways, here his the most extensive list of OEM emblems I have seen and this is a fantastic company to work with (no affiliation).

Non painted versions (OEM silver color)

Thanks. My trunk lid got keyed recently. I was wondering about going this route when it got fixed, but I think I may just have them leave the emblems off. Besides, they invariably end up with bits of towel or stuff caught under the edges.
I have an RS 60 Spyder emblem!!

I spent at least 30 minutes composing what I thought was a good, interesting and somewhat rambling post except to we Porsche guys and my computer crashed. Lovelys I gotta get back to editing to sadly I will just say that I had an emblem made using the door sill decal as a template. It is beautifully made from stainless steel, is 1/8" inch thick and the guys were able to put the proper adhesive on it. I am going tomorrow to my friend's shop where he has two automotive centric C and C machines where I'm going to try and make the RS 6O larger and one set where maybe the RS is in Red now that we have something to scan and work from...We are able to experiment with throw away materials and dyes so we don't ruin costly supplies. I will report back on that. If we can get it figured out and the feedback is good from you and some other owners at Planet-9 then I will see about making a batch of them. Right now I can get these sweet stainless steel emblems made for $200 plus or minus a few dollars depending on exchange rates and the mood my middle eastern buddy is in. I will place the new one on my car tomorrow and take pics so I can compare with the new templates we will hopefully come up with. I will go now and make sure my email and phone info is correct in case anyone wants to get one of the stainless steels one, maybe a new version or has any good suggestions. I heard a story from a Porsche rep at the LA car show about why they didn't go with the proper emblem in the first place and it infuriated me so that I was determined to get this done. Plus, it IS a frikin' RS 60 Spyder for heaven's sake!!
Love this little beast of a car. I have always wanted the silver/red combo in a Porsche but this GT silver is the most beautiful of the silvers I've ever seen for the Carrera Red combo! I have gotten the bhp up to just over 337 if anyone is interested in that little project btw and it won't hurt the beefy 3.4L.
Here's to our future investments!
