Hi Crossmar,

Thanks for the comment. If you do want 3M Pro Series clear bra for your car, let me know and I can refer you to a 3M certified installer anywhere in the world.

Why doesn't PNA provide the clear protective film for all of it's models ?
My 981 boxster with 19k miles looks like it's been thru a war on the front bumper cover.

Hi Syswizard,

To my knowledge, no manufacturer includes full PPF coverage at the time of vehicle manufacture. Some manufacturers certainly purchase film from 3M and install it in certain areas.

We can install PPF on your front bumper, though you would probably want to have the bumper touched up with touch up paint first, which most of our installers can do for you.

Please let me know if I can assist in any way.

Regards,
Manny Hondroulis

Thanks Manny...but WHICH manufacturers specifically install PPF ?
IMHO It's unforgivable that Porsche does not provide this protection given their huge prices and margins.
There are so many nicks in my front bumper that it needs to be sanded down, primed, filled and repainted.....
and all of that after only 19k miles !!!

Hi Syswizard,

I don't disagree with you. That's why many Porsche owners have the car treated with clear bra prior to driving it. You can repair your bumper and have film installed on it, but keep in mind that film is likely to remove non-factory paint (especially if it hasn't been given sufficient time to cure) if the film itself needs to be removed.

As for which manufacturers install PPF...the manufacturers that offer PPF at the factory do so in small areas, and Porsche is one of them. It's not the same as the aftermarket treatment you would receive when you take your car to a 3M installer. In fact, the material used isn't even the same. IMHO the aftermarket material is better.

Regards,
Manny
