Another weekend at the track, more 911 asses kicked

Ho hum. Busted all the 911's (996's and 997's, all the way up to the GT3's) at the track this weekend with my 987S equipped with R-compound tires (even the 996's and 997's equipped with R compounds). New track records both days (one was illegitimate, sort of, because it was the first time we ran that configuration). Who has the 'chick car' now???

It's easy, all you have to do is put nails in all their tires!

Sweet. I'm trying to schedule time off for the May 15th event. I hope I can make it; everyone says streets is a great place to learn how to track your car.

I noticed you put some type of film on the front of your car. I have clear bra on my 997. you think that would be enough out there, or do I need more drastic steps to protect the front end?

Mika - what event on May 15th? Nothing in the POC calendar on that day...next event with POC is a 2-day short track series June 23-24. I'll be there...

I have what I call a 'car condom' on the front of the car - it's temporary carpet runner. Like super-thick saran wrap with an adhesive backing. It takes far less time to put on than blue tape, holds all weekend easily, and doesn't look stupid like I think blue tape looks. Clear bra will be fine, just tape up (or use the carpet runner) your headlights and mirrors.

Fortyounce, I had a 1:33 clockwise with the bowl (new record because it is a new configuration) and 1:32.967 CCW with the bowl (broke the existing track record)

Here's the link to info on Zone 8 Auto-X May 15th at Streets of Willow:

Looks like a pretty good deal for $100. I really want to drive SOW. I saw some in car vids, and with the pics you posted it really looks like I can get some good learning experience in w/o having to worry about damaging my precious 997

Thanks for the tip on the carpet runner. Come to think of it, I have a roll of it sitting in storage! I'll be sure to bring it next month if I get to go.

Mika - Autocross on Streets won't be the track, unfortunately. If I were you, I'd sign up for the short track series at Streets June 23-24th. I'll be there...
