Zeintec Hardtop
Zeintec Hardtop
So this thing will basically push your boxster into cayman territory real quick. I don't think they are shipping yet, but this almost turns boxsters into a whole new car. Their site doesnt mention price, but they seem to have a target around $4k+
anyone else been taking a gander at these? i'm pretty stoked at least.

I've gotten a few calls back that I've neglected to return from their USA distribution folks .. The price I was quoted awhile ago was more like $5k, which seems to be a bit much considering I'll rarely use it.
I'm sure for folks who live in inclimate weather this would be great .. just don't get that type of weather too often in these parts.

Well .. I saw that hardtop in real at the Essen Motorshow. From a certain distance it looks really cool .. but when I looked closer the windows looked very sloppy. Definitally not good enough for any serious buyer.
The sales guy noticed me looking at it. He said they were aware of this (big) problem, but he said it was a prototype. The production version would not have this problem.
They were very friendly and professional. The window (I saw) looked like crap tough.
There is another company that makes this kind of hardtop. There are located in France, but I forgot their name. I couldn't find them on the Internet, but the have a lot of advertising in a French Porsche magazine. (The company that does the Porsche parts is part of a bigger company called "Poly Pieces". Poly pieces does all kind of tuning parts for other cars .. in fibreglass)
