My wife just leased a BMW X5 two weeks ago and the 36 month residual on that is 60% with 12K miles/year and the money factor was .0022 (5.25%) through BMW Fin'l Services. I would think that the CaymanS would hold its value better than an X5.... and then the money factor?????
I just ran some numbers. On a 72 month purchase you can drive away in this particular CaymanS for $989/month with NO money down at a 6% rate (they are out there all over the place for 72 months at 5.5%- 7%))....just pay the taxes. Your loan balance at the end of 36 months is $32.5K which is even lower than the lease residual of nearly $36K. The real kicker is you have NO MONEY OUT OF POCKET except the sales tax.
Once again thanks for the info. Those are great deals at $500 over invoice!! Wish they were available when I bought mine

DrPaul - the X5 lease was directly through BMW Financial Services. The dealer was VOB BMW in Rockville, MD.

This is Boxster trade in value is.
$35K is the highest dealer will paid.
But on a low trade in value, the OTD price of the next car can be negotiated more. There might be more to the story.
Regardless, I too see lightly used Cayman S' are about $55K now.
The lease prices seem a bit steep.
I just picked up a brand new FX35 - MSRP of $49,610. I paid $4000 down (including fees, $2500 DP), and now $300/month. But it's only an 18 month lease.
