There is a big company out of the US that always advertises in Excellence Magazine... forget their name now.

In addition to the name Howie (168) gave you, also give Dave Corbett a call at Airgroup Express. 604-538-6390. I've used Dave for several different cars including when we shipped 3 GT's to California and back for some entertainment down south, and I also know that he frequently ships for ZR Auto (including the Enzo, MC12 etc) as well.

So what happens with border crossing? Do they take care of all that? What do they charge for brokerage fees?
thanks

If you are still looking for a transporter, my company moves cars to Canada on a regular basis. Email me at jerry@omahatransport.com and I can give you more information regarding the border crossing, what to expect, etc.

Either you have to be at the border to pay the GST Tax or hire a customs broker to take care of that for you. If you are having the vehicle trucked in, you will need a customs broker. If you are picking up the vehicle at the border, you can do the paperwork yourself. Regardless, the border has to be notified 72 hours before the vehicle crosses. Also, you have to have the vehicle Canadian compliant (lights, etc.).

I authorized US Canada Auto Transport to handle everything, they used a firm call Peninsula Customs Brokers to handle everything for me
$125.00 Brokerage Charge
EDI $2.00
Form 1 - $30.00
Outport - $20.00

And they used Royal Bank, so I did was found out what the total was, wentto my bank, got a Bank Draft, went to Royal Bank, deposit the funds to their account and done, car was dropped of in front of my house, that evening after it left Coutts , Sweet Grass border crossing.

That sounds very reasonable. Did you have to fax the recall clearance letter to the border? What other paperwork were you responsible for arranging prior to getting the car? Do you have to have the Cdn mods done BEFORE it crosses the border? e.g drls etc..
thanks

You need the recall letter when the car is here, same with DLR, check the riv website for info, If the Porsche is under warranty, then you have to pay the $1200.00 pay whatever.

Mine was a CPO, until Nov 2009, but since mine went through a broker, it was no longer CPO.

Depending on the year of the vehicle, for DLR
Check this

TFX international. Based out of canada, they do cross border shipping, handle customs for you etc etc etc.

everything they carry is awsome and pricey and they treat vehicles with kid gloves.

highly recommended.

Yes TFX without a doubt. Have used them before, and now they are transporting a 911/C4S for me. They are a little more costly however well worth it. They really used white gloves when they moved the last car for me.
