Question for Canadians
Question for Canadians
I have a question for the canadians on the forum...
I am selling jet skis....I have them posted on craigslist. Why am I getting so many calls from canadian buyers? Are jet skis worth more up there? I cant figure it out. The exchange rate is not a huge factor. Is it a scam? Help!!!

What make and model are you selling, and what's your asking price? I'll do a comparison if possible of the cost to source one in Canada.
Sometimes it is cheaper to purchase in the US and then import into Canada (despite taxes and duty), especially now with the very strong exchange rate of $US to $CAN funds.
If prices here are higher, then I am sure that will explain the calls you are getting. Then again, there are scammers everywhere, so no harm in double and triple checking any buyer, whether in the US or Canada.

PS: PM me info on your Jet Skis, i might be intrested, if teh price is right :P
Gotta be the strong C$. I think some of the US car dealers are dealing with almost as many Canadians as they are local clientelle. Certainly many of them have become very aware of the needs we have as foreign buyers (recall letters, inspections, etc).
well i did some research...
I went to the canada and US sea doo websites:
Using the same model --- (sea doo rxp-x)
US msrp = 13.2k
Can msrp = 16.2k
The jets I have for sale are posted here:
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...w-trailer.html
Both are 07's (RXT) and (RXP)...Just for a quick comparison. I looked on Canada's craigslist...
A similar 07 (RXT) with 75 hours to mine which has 88 hours...
The canada price was 12k...
My jet skis seem like a steal in comparison on top of the strong Can$...

I checked the trader here for you as well using those model numbers. There weren't many 2007's listed, but the price as suspected is still higher.
So there you go. Price is the answer.
Now go give some grateful Canadian a break :-)
