Hey guys, I'm in talks to purchase my first P-car in Texas. I want to get it shipped near the border in Sumas, but don't know where to get it shipped to. I've heard there are receivers that the charge $50-$100, but haven't found any. Any info would help, thanks.

why not fly down and drive it back and enjoy the car and do some sight seeing?

That was the original plan, but a 3600km trip is just to much and work schedule right now won't permit it. I am contemplating driving 1200kms to denver and shipping it out from there.

The driver can pretty much meet you anywhere close to the border. Just get in contract with the driver a couple days before the delivery and set up a place and time.

Intercity lines and/or Dependable Auto Shippers both have receiving points in Kirkland Wa. Pretty simple situation to drive down with a friend and drive back with your car. Curiously, why aren't you getting your shipper from Texas to coordinate a drop point.

Thanks guys, I'm still not set on a date to pick it up and everyone shipper I asked for a quote never answered the "where can they drop it off" or "closest receiving point" question. Just trying to be well prepared.

Oroville WA would be really close to you. 10 min from Osoyoos. Thats where I drove to to have mine shipped
south.

Kirkland, WA is far closer (about 145 miles) than Osoyoos which is 250+ miles over winter roads (potentially) at this time of year. Suggest checking out places in Blaine. Another idea would be to contact the various shipping drop points in Blaine and see if any would receive a car.

You can always have it dropped off in Seattle and enjoy the drive up north from there. It'll give you a few hours to thoroughly enjoy your new ride. And congratulations on the purchase, by the way!

I was going to ship mine also and then instead did a 4,300 mile road trip in it from DC to CA and then to BC. It was a fantastic experience though I wouldn't recommend for anyone to do that in five days. Two weeks would have been perfect. Thankfully I had two of my best friends along for the ride in different parts of the trip.

Thanks again guys. Should be picking up the car mid-January. Current owner bought out the lease and had to get it re-titled and we're just waiting for the title to arrive.

I'm considering driving it as well at this point, it'll be a 3200km trip, but should be fun, weather permitting of course.

Read about too many bad experiences with dependable, though they are the cheapest for enclosed.
I'll probably end up using Passport Transport, quite a bit more than dependable, but seem to be well reviewed.

Try "Ship Happens" just google them, I get parts and whatever shipped there for pick up and have seen cars sitting there as well.

Look into TFX transport, seem pretty good and see them around. I researched them when looking at a car in BC to bring back to ON...car didn't work out.
