The new Michelin Diamaris OEM tire for Cayenne, can it be an all-weather tire or do I need to get snow tires? I've heard rumors both ways. The tire is designed for Cayenne specifically, and is listed as a 4 x 4. But the pattern doesn't look all that aggressive. What's the word and does anyone have experience with this tire in snow and hills? The funny thing is that on the tire brochure for all Porsches, the Cayenne 19" OEMs listed the Conti 4x4 SC and the Pirelli P Zero Rosso Asimmetrico, but NO Michelin?!

 

The Diamaris N-spec is OE for 19 and 20", but not 18". Stock tire specs are always changing....

As for their winter capability, NONE of the tires that come stock on the truck will pass with decent snow traction and the Michelin is no exception. The tires are just too wide to cut through anything. I would DEFINITELY recommend snow tires. Every Cayenne owner I spoke with last season admitted the truck is a joke in any kind of snow, regardless of the tire. Especially the Turbo model.
