snows are not just for snow. the rubber is meant to run with more grip in colder temperatures. even the all seasons are too hard for some temperatures. further, all seasons don't stick in the summer so why cut corners with your contact patch.

would you buy the compromise oil for your engine?

For the price of 22" snow tires you can do a pre-built 18" or 20" set and get better traction doing it. Call me if I can help.

Thanks for all the responses, picked up the truck on Friday and loving it ! ... think it's best to keep it stock for now, as it is the wife's car, and of course, safety is priority # 1 ....

IMO, the whole harder rubber when it gets cold isn't apparent. I have been running my summers in <20 F weather fine. As long as it doesn't snow, I am cool.

I have 20's on my X5' and wouuldn't dream of driving on them in the winter. My buddies RR Sport comes stock with 20's and summer tires and lets just say he tends to get stuck alot.

Keep the 22's for the summer

It snowed in April of 05 here in CT..... The Nitto NT555's handled it OK, but I wouldn't leave them on year-round.....

Did make for a nice photo op though.....

I took out the CS through 9+inches of snow last storm on 22"s. I was planning on buying some winter wheels and winter tires. The 22"s were fine..
