Stainless Steel Skid Plate, self-install?

For some reason I really like the look of these Stainless Steel Skid Plates...
Does anyone know if this can be self-installed? Would it look weird if I only do the back?

Also how hard is it to install the roof rails? Do we need to drill holes to install them?

Thanks...

I don't think they are stainless, I think they are just painted plastic. I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere (Rennlist?) that they were not stainless and they were a PITA to install. Roof Rails are simple and you should have tracks in your roof that they clip into.

As Griza stated, there are rails imbedded into the roof to accept the BOTH types of roof rails. Go to the Porsche website for more information/pictures.

As far as installing a skid plate, here is a link to a DIY instruction to install a front skid plate onto a 1st-generation CTT.

And yes, they are SST - at least for the 1st-gen Cayennes. The official Porsche website will give you more information.

Thank you, Griza and Cannoli. Funny how dealership quoted me 2 hours of install time for rool rail for $230 just labor along! Sounds like they're just clip-ons??? Interesting...

Thanks!

John

Dont forget to get both, one for the front and rear they will make your cayenne look very nice especially if you add the roof rack's and sideboards.

Optional can be ordered individually or as a combination with the front, same thing applies for the front skid plate. The standard one's are plastic.

Thank you once again for all the comments! I think I might go with just the back... The front for some reason does not look right... So far I can't find instructions online on how to install the back.
