How often does your air compressor get activated while driving?
Just wondering, cuz either I just realized or it just started, my air compressor is almost filling the tank all the time. When I hit the brake, it starts working, when I floor, it starts working. When I first operate the car, it starts working (first time in the morning is acceptable). I'm just wondering if it's the same with you. You can check that by muting the audio and listening carefully to your air compressor while driving.
That sounds excessive. I'd have that checked out.
I have a tire that has a slow leak, and I use the on-board air source to adjust the tire pressure. I only hear the air compressor working when I'm either filling the tire(s) or raising the suspension. During normal operation I don't hear the compressor, which is located under the front right seat, at least on the 955 Cayennes 2003-06. Is it located there on the 957 Cayennes too?

That is strange, mine will only make noise when I'm filling a wheel or making adjustments for ride height... my guess is you have a loose connection in a line or one of your airbags in the suspension is leaking...
air compressor
yes under the front passenger seat there is a compressor for the air suspension.
there is tubing under the rear seats which can be connected to fill up tires
i think the non air suspension vehicles also have an air pump but i am not sure where it is located

yor air suspension works throughout a drive when it needs to.
Everyone that said theirs only works when filling up tires or raising, just doesn't hear it when it is doing it at other times.
It is on more times than just that.
Now it if is running constantly, that is NOT GOOD>
But if if is on when you hard break, or when you are at a light and then turns itself off after a few seconds that is completely normal.
Example. WHen you are at a stop light, and if the car is a little off level from left to right, the side that is lower, will get raised up, to match the other side.
This only happens by the compressor turning on.
Some might hear it, some might not, but it is on whether we can hear it or not.
I hear mine in situations like that, but it's not a constant thing...just when it needs to.
