Lightbulb 22" Wheels (PLEASE HELP)

Sorry guys, I know this has been talked about numerous times. I am going to be purchasing 22" wheels likely soon... I am only uncomfortable about one thing: what tires to get!! Please help me out by posting what tires you would get if you were in my position (22" wheels on a Cayenne S on steel suspension). Here are my thoughts so far: I dont want to have too rough of a ride (have 19's right now), I would like to get Michelin Diamaris, but dont necessarily have to if everyone thinks there is somthing better, and I would like to have a correct speed reading (any way to get the speedometer adjusted or somthing)?? Thanks alot for your help, and once again sorry about bringing up somthing that has been talked about numerous times. By the way, the wheels are going to be 22" by 10" all around. Please help me out by telling me the exact manufacter, tire and tire size you would get! Thanks alot!!

Ryan

why not stagger?.. It would allow you to run a nice aggressive wide tire in the rear klike the Conti Sport Contact 4x4, Good tires with the proper rolling diameters would not give you any negative effects

Not sure staggering wheel/tire sizes is proper on AWD vehicles. May affect the handling in an adverse way?

If diameters and proper Tire sizing front and rear.. There is no adverse affect on handling. and it is asthetically more pleasing. Actually Arling The Conti is a fairly decent handling tire

I still prefer the Michelin's 285/35/22. Fills out the wheelwell a bit better as well. Plus we all know how well Michelin's ride and handle.

So what's the verdict? Front: 10.0, (265) and rear 10.5 (285) or 10.0, (285) all around?

I would go 285/35 all round if you get 22x9.5

295/30 if you get 22x10

what wheels are you getting?

At this point it looks like HRE 640 10.0X22" painted center, chrome lip with 295/30's.

HRE only makes 9.5" for the Cayenne. I had the same problem with you when I ordered my HRE wheels.

you can only do 22x9.5. If you go with 22x10.5, it will stick out by 0.25".

Excuse me but your incorrect. HRE will custom make sizes depending on their stock rim halfs. Also, if the offset is proper for the particular car, the wheel will not protrude past the fender. The actual size of the wheel in this case, 10.5 is only a small part of the process. The OFFSET, (inside or out) will determine if the wheel will fit properly under the car. So to cut it short, not every 10.5X22" wheel is the same.

Both Peter and Arling already contacted HRE and it is not possible. You can double check with them

OK. Just spoke with HRE again. Currently available for the Cayenne is 9.5 and they will custom make, 10.5X22". 10.0" are down the road.
