08 V6 6000 Mile Service

Everytime I start my Cayenne it is telling me I need service in XXXX miles, which is at 6000 miles. Is there a 6k service? There is no mention of a 6k service in the maintenance manual or owners manual that I can find. The maintenance manual shows first service at 18K or 2 years and an oil change once per year.

Thanks
Frank

The only service is the oil change they also change some filters. Take it to the dealer ship the probably can just reset the computer.

It's been 8500 miles with my 08 S and it didn't ask for a service yet ( i had to go to service for 5 times though, for other problems)

The 1st service is an oil change. This is supposed to occour at 10,000 miles. I got the same thing. Since I usually drive the Cayenne on an almost daily basis, I had the 1st oil change done at about 8,XXX miles. I just dropped the car off today for the second oil change at about 17,000 miles. The dealer will try to charge you to just reset the light. I have been quoted anywhere from $50 to $100 dollars. Only Porsche dealerships can reset the service now light.

That light will burn for a long time before I pay them to reset a service light that is not in the required maintenance schedule.

Niello Porsche in Rocklin told me that it was set at factory like that for some testing and they forget to reset it sometimes. They reset ours no issues. Hope that helps.

Thanks Everyone
I took delivery early June 2007, I'll take it back for the oil change and get them to reset the light in late May, I have less than 5K miles on it.
